George Weiblen

New Orleans stonecutter Albert Weiblen and his son George leased part of the Venable Brothers' quarrying holdings in 1911, forming Stone Mountain Granite Company.

When Augustus Lukeman took over the carving in the 1920s, The Stone Mountain Granite Company was hired to do the work, Albert Weiblen assigned his son, George Weiblen, to supervise. George was later hired by the Stone Mountain Memorial Association to complete the carving under Walker Hancock in the 1960s.
