Walking

Walking is a very popular activity at Stone Mountain. Robert E. Lee Boulevard, the perimeter road around the mountain, is where most walkers go. It is 4.84 miles (7.78 kilometers) long and quite hilly. People can be seen walking the Boulevard at all times of the day from before sunrise to after sunset and in all weather conditions from hot to cold and wet to dry. It's best to walk counter-clockwise but people go both ways.

Robert E. Lee Boulevard has distance markers accurately placed every half mile. They originate from Confederate Hall and proceed counter-clockwise.
