Teodoro Francesco Bottinelli (1886-1933) was an Italian sculptor who worked
on the
carving under
Augustus Lukeman. Lukeman was too
busy to visit the carving site regularly and needed assistance. In 1927,
George Weiblen's father Albert
assigned Teodoro Bottinelli, a talented sculptor from the Albert Weiblen Marble & Granite
Company in New Orleans, to the project.
His monument at Metairie Cemetery in Louisiana includes a likeness of the head of Robert E. Lee.
